Which book should everyone read?
Claire: Oooh, tough one, there are so many! I'm going to say Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, THE Gothic novel. I love the story behind it, about Mary and her husband, Percy Bysshe Shelley, spending a summer with Lord Byron on the shore of Lake Geneva. It was a stormy evening and the group of friends challenged each other to write a scary story – it was the birth of Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus. It shows what a simple challenge can lead to and is a thrilling read.
Tim: Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki because it opens your eyes to how the world really works.
Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
Claire: You should read it because it is motivating and inspiring, and because you will learn tips from the masters.
Tim: If you're thinking of publishing a book, or you want your current book to sell better, the ideas in Interviews with Indie Authors will really inspire you.
How do you react to a bad review?
Claire: If it's quite personal and attacking then I get upset, but I count my blessings and move on. You can't please everyone.

What inspired you to want to become a writer?
Claire: When I was eleven, we did a project on islands and part of it was to write a story about an island. I did a Famous Five type story and instead of writing a page, like the rest of my class, I wrote over twenty and had it published in the school magazine. My teacher told me that one day I would be a famous writer and I have held on to those words ever since.
Tim: I'm not a writer, my role is layout, formatting, graphic design and I also set up and manage websites related to the books.
Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published.
Claire: I am blown away whenever I read emails from readers telling me how much they've enjoyed my writing and I also loved getting to the 25,000 sales mark in just over six months.
Tim: How helpful the authors we interviewed for Interviews with Indie Authors have been. They were so giving of their time and advice, and have been a huge support.
What's one piece of advice you would give aspiring authors?
Claire: Never stop learning and never stop writing.
Tim: It's very easy to procrastinate and worry about every single little detail of your book. Although it's good to have a plan, it will undoubtedly change as soon as you start writing. Just get on with it and worry about the details later.
If a movie was made about your life, who would you want to play the lead role and why?
Claire: Sandra Bullock because she always plays quirky, fun characters.
Tim: Ewan McGregor because he seems to be a similar character to me.
