1. Why do you write?

I write YA fiction because I love enthralling and captivating narratives by other authors, and it’s always a great feeling to learn that others feel the same way about my books.

2. Have you always enjoyed writing?

Yes; I’ve been writing stories of one kind or another for as long as I can remember—usually Doctor Who stories when I was very young!

3. What motivates you to write?

Self-discipline, mostly, but also thinking about my readers is always a great motivation not just to write but to write well.

4. What writing are you most proud of?

I’m immensely proud of my debut novel, Martin King and the Space Angels, and the rest of the series is currently shaping up nicely!

5. What books did you love growing up?

The Harry Potter books (obviously), the Doctor Who BBC and Virgin books, the Phoenix and the Carpet, and the Animorphs series.

6. What other jobs have you had in your life?

Quite a few! Photographer, kitchen salesman, cash for gold buyer, checkout assistant, and contact centre associate—to name a few!

7. How do you develop your writing?

Writing, for me, writing is quite an organic process. I will often just start with one idea and daydream about it until it grows and connects with other ideas.
