Tell us a bit about your family. I have been married to my husband since 2000. We have two daughters who are currently in elementary school. Our pets include two cats and two hamsters.
What is your favorite quality about yourself? I am an unrelenting optimist. By and large, I feel that things will work out for the best, no matter what it seems like at the current moment.
What is your least favorite quality about yourself? I am a perfectionist – especially when it comes to my own work. Therefore, I am my own harshest critic.
What are you most proud of accomplishing so far in your life? I am most proud of the fact that I found my soul mate at a relatively young age and have been able to create a family with him. I think that most people would feel that they want to be able to give their children better lives than they had growing up and we have been able to accomplish that. With that being said, actually seeing the book that I wrote available for sale is a close second.
What is your favorite color? Purple
What is your favorite food? Steak
What’s your favorite place in the entire world? My house – all of my favorite things are there and it’s the most expensive purchase I’ve ever made. If I had to pick a favorite vacation destination that I have actually been to it would be Longboat Key, Florida.
How has your upbringing influenced your writing? I don’t recall my parents either encouraging my writing or discouraging it, either. I think that I’ve always been fiercely independent and maybe that’s why my characters are as well. People can read into my characters’ family issues and speculate what they will – I think all families are dysfunctional in their own way.
