Author Interview – Karin Cox

If you could travel in a Time Machine would you go back to the past or into the future? Definitely the past. I am an ancient history buff. The first place I would go is ancient Greece. Then I’d take my pick of many different time periods, including Mesopotamia, Egypt in the Old Kingdom, Rome, Celtic Britain, and Regency England.

If you could invite any 5 people to dinner who would you choose? Jimi Hendrix, Mary Renault, Dorothy Parker, CS Lewis, Lord Byron.

If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you want with you? My Kindle (loaded with books). My family. Water (It is a desert island, right? If it’s just a deserted island and it has a spring, replace water with wine)

What is one book everyone should read? My book! Seriously. One book. I’d have to say To Kill A Mockingbird.

If you were a superhero what would your name be? Stackgirl. My superpower would be not falling over while wearing ridiculous heels.

If you could have any superpower what would you choose? I’d choose the power to vaporize truly evil people who’ve committed violent rapes or murders—just by looking at them.

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? Vanilla. I like its versatility. Add peaches. Add milo. Add macadamia nuts. Add whatever topping you like. What’s not to like?

If you could meet one person who has died who would you choose? Jesus Christ. He’d be useful for turning the water into wine on my desert island.

What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast? Eggs benedict. But I’m more likely to be found with vegemite on toast.

Night owl, or early bird? Such a night owl! I am often still awake at 2 am. I have trained myself to survive on a solid six hours sleep a night.

One food you would never eat? Whale. Wouldn’t ever happen.

Pet Peeves? My partner putting clothes everywhere but in the clothes basket. What is with that? Sometimes he will even put them right next to it! It drives me up the wall.

Skittles or M&Ms? Eminem.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book. Because it will make you think, and hurt, and understand that we all make mistakes and that things are often not how they first appear.

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?  Yes, I’m just finishing one off now, with the aim of a pre-Christmas release. It is a gothic paranormal romance called Cruxim, and the protagonists are a Sphinx and an angelic being who preys on vampires. I had a fun time writing it
