Heh heh.  My page ninety-nine is a doozy.  Made me laugh, which is a good thing, because I strive to write sweet, funny, romantic shorts.  15 Shades of Pink features three of my romantic short story volumes (for the price of two!) so there are fifteen of my short stories in this omnibus.  Page 99 takes us to “Not You,” the third story from the first volume, Flirts! 5 Romantic Short Stories

In “Not You,” one night with a stranger gets even stranger the next day.  This one’s tough to dissect without revealing too many spoilers, but let me give you the set up.  The story begins with Carly bemoaning the fact that her mother is getting married for the third time while she’s never even been close to a proposal.  So she throws a bachelorette party-for-one on the night before her mother’s wedding with the hottest guy she can find.  She’ll never see him again, so what does it matter if she indulges in her first-ever one-night stand?

But she does see Rob again—sooner than she could ever imagine!  I don’t want to ruin it for you, but by page 99, Carly is fighting her feelings for Rob, while finding herself unable to resist him—with a quickie in between her mother’s wedding and the reception.  On page 99 she decides one more time with Mr. Wrong would be all right.  Page 99 has a funny, cringe-worthy, closed-door sex scene.  (All the sex scenes in my short stories are closed door.)  The scene is sexy and funny, but also raises the tension about whether these two could or even should make a go at a real relationship.
